Good Afternoon team!!

Sunday we will be playing in Lexington.

Please have the girls on field in black uniforms at 2:15 pm for 3:00 pm game. As always, please pack the white jersey just in case. Although the home team usually changes if there is a color conflict, it is nice to be prepared.

Our first game swift approaches:

Below are the directions to Saturday's game against Net Surfers. Be on field at 2:15 to warm up for 3 pm game.
We are the visting team and should wear black uniforms and pack white uniforms in case of color conflict.
Don't forget practice tomorrow and Thursday from 6-8 pm at the facility. It has been very hot, so bring plenty of water.

Thursday we will scrimmage the White team girls to prepare for Saturday's game.

End of season schedule/ Tryouts/ Year end party

We are in the home stretch team!!!

There is a lot of information here this time , so please make sure you read it all.

We will practice today at Thurmin Hutchins Park from 6:00 - 7:30.
Wednesday we play Mockingbird at 6PM on our field #14. Have girls on field at 5:15 in White uniforms.
Saturday May 24 we play Lexington Classic at 11 am on our field #14. Have girls on field at 10:15 in white uniforms.
Monday is Memorial Day and there will be no practice.
Final Season practice Tuesday, May 27th. Place and time will be communicated once weather is determined.
Wednesday May 28th at 6:00 is our final season game vs Javanon White. Have girls on field # 13 at 5:15 in white uniforms.

Javanon tryouts are June 3rd and June 5th from 6-8pm at the Javanon Facility. In order to streamline this process, they have asked that all current players go to the Javanon webite and complete the try out form ahead of time. Finally, Regan's parents have volunteered to host the end of year party again this year. I need to get with her to determine the time and will communicate ASAP.

I hope everyone is enjoying the Derby Festivities!!!

Sunday we are playing both Lexington teams. We have expressed to the coordinator that we do not want to do it like this next year, but since the beginning of the season was so wet, there are not any options to move one of the games. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can hang out at the field and relax.

Lets plan a tail gate scenario in between games. If everyone brings snacks and drinks, the girls can sort of snack around and relax. I can bring my small cornhole game and coach can bring the canopy to keep them out of the sun.

From Louisville Take I-65 South to exit 112 (Bardstown Clermont exit) turn left off ramp onto HWY 245. Travel approximately 20 miles going thru 7 traffic lights after the last light you will see a sign on the left Dean Watts Park. Turn left onto Spencer Mattingly Road, travel approximately 1 mile you will see the park on the right. Football fields are in the front of the park and soccer fields are in the back.

We have a busy week and I know we are all ready for a game to actually happen.

Practice at Indoor Facility/ Thursday's Game

Practice will be at the indoor facility from 6-8 pm instead this evening, due to pending rain.

All parents should attend a parents meeting from 6-6:30 and the girls will practice from 6:30-8 pm.

As of now, we will play the White team on field 13 at 6pm tomorrow.

Girls should wear black but should pack white just in case. Please have the girls on the field at 5:15 for warm up.

In case of rain, I will contact you as soon as I hear whether or not the game is cancelled. We should plan to reschedule it on Tuesday if this happens.

INDOOR SCHEDULE WILL EXTEND ONE MORE WEEK DUE TO PENDING WET WEATHER!!

Please be there this week on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30- 6:30 !!

A parent meeting will be held at the beginning of practice on Monday March 10th when we resume regular season practice.

We will be at Seneca Park Monday March 10th and Wednesday March 12 unless otherwise indicated.

Spring Season

The girls have really enjoyed winter training at the new facility. I am amazed at how their footskills have improved!!

We will play our last 2 indoor games on Saturday.

10:00 a.m. wear white

Spring Season will officially begin on Monday.

We will begin practicing outside each Mon-Wed from 5:30 to dark at Seneca Park near the baseball field. Once the Eva Bandman fields dry out, we will be back to our regular location.

We're Back!!!

We're Back!!! And in case you hadn't heard, we made it into the A division!!!

We want to extend a special welcome to Haley and her parents Jim and Cindy. Haley is a fabulous young lady and we are excited to have her on the team.

I'm so sorry that a few of you missed the ice skating outing. It was such fun!!! Jim and Jeff were dads on ice and the girls had a blast!!! Please be thinking of ideas for a Spring outing. The girls have mentioned bowling.

Winter season is well under way and schedules are currently being finalized for Spring Season.

Winter and Spring fee schedules were sent in one e-mail so that you would have them in one place. There are a lot of Javanon administration changes going on right now and there have been some holes in the e-mail chain. Please get the Winter fees in as soon as possible.

We have 3 weeks of Winter training left. Schedule is as follows:

Saturday Feb 16th:
10:00 am wear white
11:00 am Mix up scrimmage-- wear black

Saturday Feb 23rd:
9:00 am wear black

Saturday Mar 1st:
10:00 am wear white
11:00 am Mix up scrimmage-- wear black

Spring Season:

We will definitley be participating in 2 tournaments this year. They are:

Javanon Cup March 15th and 16th
Louisville Cup (Mockingbird) April 19th and 20th.

Our regular season will begin the weekend of March 8th and will last through the weekend of June 1st.

Final schedule will be sent to me by February 28th.

Lastly, it has come to my attention that we are expected to contribute $25 per family ($250) to the Javanon Tournament booklet printing. I will be at the facility on Tuesday and can collect the money then. You can write checks to me and I will write one check to Javanon.

We are now officially in the home stretch this season. We have 4 games on the books and are waiting to see if the Athletico team wants to reschedule the game they cancelled 2 weekends ago.

Arrive at 8:15 in Black Uniforms
Directions are as follows:

Take Gene Synder South to Taylorsville Rd Exit. At the bottom of exit ramp, take a left at the light. Go straight through next stop light. You will come to an intersection with Pope Lick Rd on your left and a Gas Station on your right. There is a road on your right, just across from Pope Lick and just before the Gas Station. Turn here (on your right). Follow this road, it will make a sharp curve/turn to the right. Just after this curve take a right at the next road. This road will take you to the entrance to the parking lot for our fields. It will be the first turn on your right.

The manager did not provide a field number. I will let you all know ahead of time.

Sunday, October 21st-- Storm SC vs. Javanon Red 3:00 pm in Nicholasville.

Women's Soccer is hosting the Buckeyes of Ohio State this Sunday at 1 PM. The team will host a pre-game clinic starting at 11 AM till Noon at Cardinal Park. The clinic is free to all players that want to participate. During the game, we will hold a raffle for the chance to win a 2008 Women's Soccer Camp Scholarship! I apologize for the delay in getting out weekend info. This week took off without me. :-)

Here is the schedule for the weekend:

Saturday- Javanon 98 Red vs Nelson Rowdies 1:00 pm Louiville Soccer Park Field # 1 (same field as last game, on the higher of the two sides. Wear white and have the girls on the field at 12:15!!

Sunday- A.C. United vs Javanon 98 Red 3:00 pm Anderson County Park Soccer Fields. Wear black, pack white. Have girls on the field at 2:15 pm!!

Directions are as follows:

I-64 east and take the Lawrenceburg/Graefenburg Exit 48. Go right and that will be Highway 151. Go about 5 miles and at the light turn right, that will be US 127 South. Go exactly 2 miles looking for a green sign on the right side of the road that says "Anderson County Community Park." You will need to be in the left lane to turn into the park. There is a small turning lane off of the left lane. As you enter the park, keep going straight and you will see the soccer fields on your left. Stay on this road as it will bank to the left a little and lead you to a Pavilion.

Here is the field layout. I assume we will be on the U-10 field.

Lori, Maury and Reagan Kommer are hosting our end of year swim party for the girls.

Since State Cup and other things are making it difficult to plan a weekend endeaver, we decided to do a Thursday night from 5:30- 9ish. The availble dates are:

Thursday, May 31st or June 7th. Pease let me know which date works best. Lori wants to grill out and enjoy the evening. I figure we can all pitch in and make it a potluck style event!!!

There's so much info in this e-mail so please take a moment to read and review directions etc.

The schedules are posted. They have us playing our first game at 7:45 a.m. both Saturday AND Sunday. Both days there is a substantial amount of time between games.

Coach suggested we take in a movie on Saturday. I have attached a link for directions to Fayette Mall Cinemark Theater. We can see either SpiderMan 3 or Meet the Robinsons. Both movies start about 11:40.

Special thanks to our coaches for picking up the carpool this weekend. I've had to laugh at all the stories Hannah told me about the trip up and back. Thanks to Ann C. for bringing the guys the 6 packs to wash that day away!! :-) I must say, the mental picture of Coach Keith singing a Gwen Stefani song with the girls will keep me chuckling all week!!!

Next Week's practice and revised directions for Sunday

I am trying to get an idea of what everyone wants to do about practice next week. Wednesday is the boat race and therefore impossible to practice anywhere near the river.

We can move practice to Tuesday, 6-8 at Eva Bandman or Wednesday 6-8 at Seneca Park.
Please let me know which you would prefer and we will do a "majority rules" kind of thing.
I know I spoke with several of you about Sunday's directions. I confused this team with another we played in the Fall.

This team is in Berea!!! It is about 70 miles from I-64 to the I-75 exit and about another 30 miles to our exit!!! Give yourself plenty of time!!!

Sunday we play MUSA on their home field at 1:30 pm. Please have the girls on the field at 12:45 in their black uniforms.

The manager sent the below directions to the Berea field.

From I-64, you take I-75 South to Exit 77 (Berea). Take a left off of theexit and you will go approximately 2 miles. After you go over the railroadtracks, the fields will be on your right.

Several of the parents met with Javanon's Pete Gerstle during Monday's practice. He gave an awesome presentation and we have copies of the preliminary design of the Javanon practice facility. I will have copies available at Sunday's game. They are very close to thier financial goal and it is very exciting for the entire club.

Directions are as follows:

Take Gene Synder South to Taylorsville Rd Exit. At the bottom of exit ramp, take a left at the light. Go straight through next stop light. You will come to an intersection with Pope Lick Rd on your left and a Gas Station on your right. There is a road on your right, just across from Pope Lick and just before the Gas Station. Turn here (on your right). Follow this road, it will make a sharp curve/turn to the right. Just after this curve take a right at the next road. This road will take you to the entrance to the parking lot for our fields. It will be the first turn on your right.

I'm not sure the exact field #. But we are just behind a covered area with picnic tables on the right side of the fields. Actually our fields are not numbered right now.

The girls had a long but wonderful weekend and we are off to a good start!!

Coach spoke specifically to the girls juggling obligation. The girls often have a hard time getting control of the ball when it comes at them high. Juggling practice is vital in correcting a multitude of ball handling errors. They are each aware of the team's juggling goal and are responsible for doing their part.

We WILL BE PRACTICING both MONDAY and WEDNESDAY. Please check the blog on Wednesday for rain contingency. We may try to get into a gymnasium if it rains.

We play JYSA Saturday morning at 9 am. I will give you specific field # later this week.

Spring Season Kickoff

The Spring Season is fast approaching. Special thanks to Sue for organizing the 3v3 at the Sacred Heart campus. PLEASE LET HER KNOW WHICH DAYS YOUR DAUGHTER WILL BE ATTENDING A.S.A.P. We would like a headcount so that we know what to expect. Please see below for a recap of the scheduled times. (Also, Daniel will have the girls' soccer balls, for those of you who have yet to receive them)

The Spring Season kick-off mini camp times are as follows:

Saturday, Feb 24th from 9-6 at the Forwith's. Keith will be taking the girls to the Sacred Heart gym for training. Parents should meet at the Forwiths house at 6 p.m. for a parent meeting and pizza party with the girls. We are aware that several of the girls have other committments at different times in the day, but please let me know if you are unable to attend the meeting.
Sunday, Feb 25th from 12-6 .

Regular Season practice resumes on our regular Monday/Wednesday schedule beginning February 26th. Weather permitting, we will be at Eva Bandman from 5:30 until dark. Time will shift as we gain more daylight. In case of inclement weather, we will practice at Coach Keith's.

Lastly, if any of you are in need of additional practice t-shirts, please let me know ASAP. I will get order forms from Lynn Wilbar.

I hope everyone's holiday season is going well.

After speaking to the majority of you regarding the indoor soccer league:

We have decided to skip the second session.
Instead, we will be renting space after the first of the year at the Ursuline campus and playing some 3 v 3 games.
Keith and I are working out the details for a few Saturdays each month in January and February. Details will follow.
We hope all of you will be able to participate. Please let me know if early or late afternoon is more accomodating to your family and we will see what we can arrange.
If any of you ARE interested in continuing the River City league, the white team is continuing into the 2nd session. You may contact their manager, Natalie Blackburn, at natalieblackburn@insightbb.com.

Lastly, a few of you still owe me for the footskills training with Ali. Please send the $95 as soon as you can.

FYI, if you have a conflict with attending his training from 1-2 on Sunday, he will let you come at a different time. The schedule is listed at www.javanon.com .

Ali's Winter training for 98 girls is scheduled on 12 Sundays from 1-2 pm. The cost is $95 per child made out to Javanon Soccer Club. Training will be held at Metro Fitness Center in Middletown on the following dates:

From Louisville, KY., New Albany and Jeffersonville, IN.

1. Get to I-64 and go East, towards Lexington, KY.
2. Take I-64 East to the Graefenburg/Lawrenceburg Exit, which is exit 48, and is Hwy 151. At the end of the ramp, go right onto Hwy 151.
3. Take Hwy 151 approximately 7 miles South to Hwy 127. Make a right turn onto Hwy 127, and go South.
4. Take Hwy. 127 South approximately 15 miles to Harrodsburg. Go around Harrodsburg on the Harrodsburg Bypass (Truck Route), by going left at the bypass stop light, so you won’t get caught by a train. This light is the first light that you approach in H-burg, and after you pass a large park on the left. (If you go into town, Hwy 127 goes straight through H-burg, so don’t turn off of it.)
5. At the end of the Bypass, you will go left onto Hwy. 127 for another 10 miles to Danville.
6. Take the Hwy. 127 Bypass around Danville. Do not turn off of Hwy. 127.
Hwy. 127 becomes the Bypass, with no light or anything.

Our final game is this Sunday. The game begins at 3 pm. Please have the girls there at 2:15 pm. Wear black, pack white.

Following our return to Louisville, we will meet at Bearnos Pizza by Bowman Field on Taylorsville Rd. I have made a 6:30 reservation and pizza will come out about 6:45. I thought I would pre-order the following. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions:

2 large cheese, 1 large pepperoni, 1 large supreme, 1 large veggie, 1 large meat combo.

I will try to set it up so that the girls are at a separate table. Keith will have a brief parent meeting and we will all enjoy an end of season wrap up.

Lastly, I need indoor soccer fees ASAP. Winter training $ can wait until the first week of training, but I need to get our indoor fees in this by early next week.
If you originally signed up but are not going to remain in the indoor program, I need to know quickly since the fee will change for the other girls.

Saturday's first game will be at Anderson County Community Park at 10 am. Manager didn't know the field # but says the area is relatively small. Look for me in the morning. Please have the girls there at 9:15. Wear Black, Pack White. Below are the directions provided by the AC United manager:

From Louisville: take I-64 east and take the Lawrenceburg/Graefenburg Exit 48.
Go right and that will be Highway 151.
Go about 5 miles and at the light turn right, that will be US 127 South.
Go exactly 2 miles looking for a green sign on the right side of the road that says "Anderson County Community Park." You will need to be in the left lane to turn into the park. There is a small turning lane off of the left lane.
As you enter the park, keep going straight and you will see the soccer fields on your left.
Stay on this road as it will bank to the left a little and lead you to a Pavilion.

The 5 pm Home game against Mercer is on Field # 2. Please have the girls there at 4:15 p.m. Wear White, Pack Black.

River City Indoor Soccer first game is Sat. November 11 at 10 am. Please write a check to River City for $60 per child and I will deliver to River City. I need this ASAP. Keith is kind enough to sponser the t-shirts and we will be called "Red J's." This is all in fun and keeps the girls fit.

Our weekend plans and directions are as follows:

Saturday:

CANCELLED
1 pm Away vs. AC United, Lawrenceburg, Ky. Girls must be on the field by 12:15. (I have e-mailed this team to find out what field number.) Wear Black uniforms, pack white for back-up!!

AC United Directions:

I-64 east and take the Lawrenceburg/Graefenburg Exit 48. Go right and that will be Highway 151. Go about 5 miles and at the light turn right, that will be US 127 South. Go exactly 2 miles looking for a green sign on the right side of the road that says "Anderson County Community Park." You will need to be in the left lane to turn into the park. There is a small turning lane off of the left lane. As you enter the park, keep going straight and you will see the soccer fields on your left. Stay on this road as it will bank to the left a little and lead you to a Pavilion.

Sunday:

1 pm Away vs. Oldham Elite, Buckner Field #9. Girls must be on the field at 12:15 pm. Wear black, pack white.

5 pm Home vs. JYSA United, Louisville Soccer Field #1. Girls must be on the field at 4:15 pm. Wear white, pack black.

Monday:

6 pm Javanon Red vs. Javanon White, Louisville Soccer Field #1 or 2. Girls must be on the field at 5:15. We are the visiting team, wear black, pack white.

On Saturday of the tournament there is a big time difference in our two games. Please let coaches and I know if you need us to help with transport.

Directions to Saturday Game in Bardstown & Next Week Practice Schedule

Directions to our 11 am game against Nelson Elite in Bardstown, Ky are as follows:

Directions: Dean Watts Park

From Louisville Take I-65 South to exit 112 (Bardstown Clermont exit) turn left off ramp onto HWY 245. Travel approximately 20 miles going thru 7 traffic lights after the last light you will see a sign on the left Dean Watts Park. Turn left onto Spencer Mattingly Road, travel approximately 1 mile you will see the park on the right. Football fields are in the front of the park and soccer fields are in the back. Girls need to be on the field with the coaches at 10:15 in their BLACK uniforms!!! Please pack the white ones just in case!!!

Also, please do not forget that there is no practice on Monday since both coaches will be out of the country. Practice will be Wednesday 6pm-8pm and Thursday 6pm-8pm.

I know some of you have conflicts with other activities on Thursday. Please e-mail to let us know who is unavailable.

Here is the map to the Lexington game on Sunday. We will play on field 2A at 1pm. Please have the girls at the field 45 minutes before the game. They will wear their Black Jerseys but REMEMBER to pack BOTH just in case there is some confusion.

Monday's game against Mockingbird will be at the Louisville Soccer Field #2 on River Rd at 6pm. White Jerseys will be worn for home games, but again, pack both just in case!!

Parent Expectations

Just to recap some of the expectations of parents during the games:

No call by a referee should be argued.
No child should be criticized during the game.
Avoid giving your child specific instruction.
Give the kids room to play-- please make it a point to sit 3 feet away from the touchline. This is very important to everyone's safety.
Do not run onto the field if your child is injured. Coaches will make sure you are on the field if the injury is substantial.
Poor behavior by an opponent team is not reason for us to behave poorly.
Attitudes are contagious. Please don't air dirty laundy on the sidelines. If there is a problem, please discuss with the coach!!
Be responsible for timely arrival of your daughter. Coach prefers that the girls arrive 45 minutes early for games. Also make sure the girls are on the field when practice is starting. Please feel free to contact another parent for help if you are crunched for time.
Please feel free to come to the coaches with ideas or questions.

Wednesday's practice was great! The girls are all really bonding as a team.

They seem VERY excited about this action-packed weekend. Below is a recap of the schedule of events as well as directions to Coach Keith's house.

Friday, Sept.1- Kick Off Party for the girls and parents meeting 7 PM. Keith's oldest Javanon girl, Megan, will lead games and fun for the girls while Keith outlines plans for the season. Eat dinner before you come!!
Saturday, Sept 2- Day camp from 8:30- 5:30. Ellie's mom, Anne, will be providing lunch for the girls. Thanks Anne!!!
Sunday, Sept.3- Day camp 12-4. Please let Keith know if there are any conflicts with family activities on this day.

August Laundry List

Hello to all:

There are a few items on the agenda.

All girls seem fine with waiting on the soccer balls with Javanon screened on the side. We can expect them in October. Thanks for the quick and positive response. I hope the girls aren’t too disappointed.
Soccer Premier is accepting bags for embroidery. Per Sue Forwith, they will be sending them out on Wednesday of next week and only take about 5-7 business days to complete. Cost is about $10. Soccer Premier does alot for Javanon and we appreciate them.
Don’t forget about the mini camp coming up Labor Day weekend. Scroll down to see all the details. I will send out directions next week. Ann Crecelius is kind enough to provide lunches for the kids that day. Thanks, Ann!!!
Friday, August 25th is the deadline for the second round of Fall fees for those of you who split it into 2 payments.
INDOOR SOCCER: The 98 coaches have decided to sign up for a recreational rather than competitive. All of our girls have expressed interest. Please let me know if you have changed your mind. REMEMBER that Ali will also be doing a winter training one day per week. Details will come later.

Saturday, Sept 2- Day camp from 8:30- 5:30. Although it may seem like a long day, the kids are going to have a great time. They won't be running laps in the hot sun all day!!! He swears they won't want to go home!!! :-) I have been to a Forwith back yard soccer afternoon and it REALLY is fun!!!
Sunday, Sept.3- Day camp 12-4. Please let me know of there are any conflicts with family activities on this day. Family IS first!!!

It looks like we have nearly everyone in attendance. Your girls won't want to miss this so please remember that we are willing to assist in keeping them in town during this weekend.

Gatorade Sponsors Javanon

Javanon is the proud recipient of Gatorade sponsorship. Lynn Wilbar will be providing us with Gatorade squeeze bottles, coolers and drink mix for the season.

We, in turn, must only use the bottles with the Gatorade logo on the sidelines during games.

Please let me know if a parent would be willing to fill and pack the large dispenser jug for the girls this season. We can split up the responsibility so the kids have it for each game.
